Pura Vida is excited to announce the launch of the #LiveRed campaign! During the month of February $1 will be donated to the Red Thread Movement for every RED LIPSTICK selfie. Tag us and use the hashtag #LiveRed,! 

Remember, RED isn't just a color, it's a state of mind.

Our #LiveRed Campaign is encouraging women to be BOLD in their Red Lipstick to benefit the Red Thread Movement. 

The Red Thread Movement is an Eternal Threads partnership with K.I Nepal to combat human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Their mission is divided into three parts:

•   Provides Fair Trade wages for rescued girls
•  Additional funds support border units and safe houses.
• Generates awareness of the global human rights crimes of human trafficking, forced labor and sexual slavery.

The Red Thread Company sells $3 handmade bracelets crafted by girls in Nepal rescued from human trafficking. Sex trafficking is often allowed to continue without consequences and is gaining momentum worldwide. The Napal/Indian border claims nearly 12,000 victims annually. Because of the low status, insufficient education, and poverty, the girls are at greater risk of being trafficked in Nepal.

The Red Thread Movement focuses on three areas of impact to help these girls avoid human trafficking:

•  work to create employment for at-risk-girls
• Send proceeds to support anti-trafficking work
• Against sex trafficking all over the world

As people wear the Red Thread bracelets all over the world, they are spreading awareness to others and showing their support against modern slavery. Pura Vida is about empowering women and is joining The Red Thread Movement in their fight against modern slavery.

Pura Vida has the chance to join in to help prevent thousands of girls from being abducted and abused and we hope you will join with us to take part in our campaign.

Tiana Evans

Pura Vida is excited to put the spot light on Tiana Evans. 

Tiana Evans has been at Pura Vida since September 2013. She is a Cosemetologist and Nail Technician for Pura Vida. Tiana specializes in manicure and pedicures and she loves that she gets to go to work and do people’s nails.

Some interesting facts about Tiana:

           Favorite celebrity crush: Michael Ealy

Pura Vida nickname:“TiTi” 

"I find out all kind of different things about people and get the opportunity to meet people from all different places."

In five years, Tiana would like to be graduating from college, further her business as a nail tech and potentially engaged! 

When Tiana is not working or in the salon, she enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.

Something people do not know about Tiana is that she enjoys playing the piano.

Happy New Year from Pura Vida Salon! 

As the new year approaches and new years resolutions are made, we want to encourage you to take care of your body. Everyone makes resolutions to eat healthier, work out more or be less stressed. Let us help you this new year. Come treat yourself in 2014 and receive a stress relieving massage or facial or spa manicure or pedicure.  Here are a 14 Beauty Resolutions that may prove to be helpful to you this new year.

Resolution #1 

Throw out make-up sponges after one week of use. You can buy 32 pack of make-up sponges for less than a Starbucks coffee. 

Resolution #2 

Wash your face every night before you go to sleep

Resolution #3

Get rid of your mascara every 6 months to avoid getting bacteria infections in your eye. If you notice a change in smell, then throw it out sooner. 

Resolution #4

Clean out your make-up bag. We all know it has been WAY to long since we all did that. 

Resolution #5

Change your moisturizer to one that has SPF to protect your skin in both the Winter and Summer. 

Resolution #6

Clean your make-up brushes weekly, since build-up can lead to breakouts or infections.

To avoid breakage, don't comb your hair immediately out of the shower.  Instead, wrap it in a towel and let it dry that way for 10 minutes. Then start combing from the bottom up. 

Resolution #8

Change your hairstyle. If you can't remember the last time you got a different cut, now is the perfect opportunity to go a little shorter, get bangs, or add a few face trimming layers. 

Resolution #9

To avoid damaging your hair, use a a heat protecting spray before using your straightener, curler or crimper. 

Resolution #10

Schedule a beauty date with your friends or sisters, or mom. That way you both feel indulged and get to spend quality time together. 

Resolution #11 

Get at least 6-8 hours of beauty sleep every night.

Give yourself a time out now and then. With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we need to relax and bring our stress levels down or else we end up wearing it.

Take a multivitamin everyday to keep your body healthy and immune system strong.
